Savannah
Lakes Village is located along South Carolina's scenic 'Freshwater Coast'
on Lake Thurmond in historic McCormick, SC. This area is blessed
with a beautiful natural landscape, clean air and water, a rich
history, temperate climate, vast forests, friendly neighbors,
smiling faces, less traffic, and one of the largest man-made lakes
in the Southeast. Recreational enthusiasts in the area live for
the exceptional boating, water skiing, mountain biking, golf,
tennis, camping, hunting, fishing, and the many other outdoor
activities that are accessible throughout the year.
Climate
The climate in the area is almost perfect. There is enough variation
in the climate to enjoy the changing seasons, without the threat
of extreme winter weather. It is not unusual to see 70 degree weather
in the middle of February. The average yearly high temperature in
the Savannah Lakes area is in the middle seventies. Measurable snow
fall is unusual and severe cold, winter storms, and damaging high
winds are rare. McCormick County is located in the Savannah River
Valley and lies near the boundary between the Piedmont Plateau and
the Coastal Plain, known as the Fall Line.
